Aggressive Feminine Hygiene

Aggressive Feminine Hygiene

Both lack and excess of feminine hygiene can lead to another trip to the gynecologist.

Let's talk about how not to harm yourself.

1. First of all, the vagina is a self-cleaning environment and doesn’t require excessive care. It is enough to clean external dirt and products from the sebaceous glands on the external genitalia. You should wash once a day, and during menstruation each time you change a tampon, pad, or menstrual cup, and all of this without using a washcloth.

In daily routine, our body produces many secretions, including those with a particular odor, and this doesn’t mean it is not clean enough. We all have some scent. By the way, it's a "pheromone a la naturel." Overzealous fighting against skin secretions and bacteria typical for our body not only attracts a weak signal, but also disrupts the natural processes in our skin.

For intimate hygiene, designate a separate towel and don’t forget to change it regularly.

2. Wondering which intimate hygiene product to buy?

Answer: none.

Water is an excellent tool for cleaning the external genitalia! A 100% saving. The compositions of gels and soaps for intimate care are primarily designed to break down fats. I don’t think we have much fat down there, but with frequent use of soap and cleansing products, you can damage the protective hydrolipid film, dry out the mucosa, and disturb the microbial balance — these factors can lead to excessive bacterial growth. The problem is self-created. Even the mildest, super organic, super natural, eco, bio gel for intimate care will work worse than plain water.

As for mass-market cosmetic products for intimate hygiene, it’s an incredibly difficult task for our delicate skin. Yes, they smell very nice, they have pretty packaging, and good writing, BUT this is not what our skin needs for healthy functioning. I recommend just forgetting about these products.

If you have slight discomfort, you can temporarily replace water with chamomile decoction.

3. The intestinal flora is unsafe for the vagina, so you should wipe from front to back. This also applies to using toilet paper. Sex toys that have been used for anal contact should not be used for vaginal contact for the same reasons.

You can wash the anal area with soap after using the toilet, but wash the genitals with plain water.

4. I hope no one knows about a procedure called douching? If you don’t know, let’s keep it that way. The procedure greatly disrupts the vaginal microbiome and, if there’s an infection, helps spread it further.
